2010 Rural Utilities Service CPA Seminars

In partnership with NSAC.

We are pleased to announce that final arrangements have been confirmed for the 2010 Rural Utilities Service CPA Seminars at the locations detailed below.  This year’s seminars are being offered in cooperation with the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives (NSAC).  Each participant will be eligible for 16 hours of governmental continuing professional education credit for attending the Rural Utilities Service CPA Seminar.  The registration fee for the seminar is $350 per participant, which you should include with your registration form.  The registration fee covers attendance at the seminar, all seminar materials, continental breakfast and seated lunch each day of the seminar, as well as the Monday evening reception.  Payment may be in the form of check, Visa, MasterCard or American Express.  Once again, we are offering online registration in addition to our more traditional registration.   Click here to register online. Please submit a separate registration form for each participant from your firm or company regardless of the method of payment.  Registrations cancelled less than 30 days prior to the seminar date will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.  All registrations should be received not later than 30 days prior to the scheduled seminar date.  After that date, registrations will be accepted on a space available basis only.  Early registration is encouraged since attendance at each seminar is limited.  Upon receipt of the registration form, participants will be provided with a written confirmation by mail or email.  Hotel registration information is provided below.  Participants are advised that hotel reservations must be made at least 30 days prior to the seminar date to take advantage of the conference rate.  Be sure to mention the Rural Utilities Service CPA Seminars when making your reservation.  For more information regarding administrative policies such as complaint and refund, please contact our offices at 202-720-5227.

Click here for a tentative program highlighting the subject matter to be discussed during the seminars.  This year we are again planning to host a special break-out session geared toward our power supply borrowers and their auditors.  This special break-out will held at the St Petersburg location only.  Other than a practical familiarity with the topics under discussion, there are no formal prerequisites for this program, nor is any specific advanced preparation required.  The material being presented is at an intermediate program level.  All sessions will be presented by on-site speakers.  A book of reference materials will be distributed to each participant at the beginning of the seminar.  The learning objectives of this seminar are to update attendees on current policies and practices impacting Rural Utilities Service borrowers, current accounting pronouncements from the Financial Accounting Standards Board, revisions to the Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards, and other accounting and auditing issues.  For more information regarding administrative policies such as complaint and refund, or if you require any special accommodations, please contact Ms. Diana Alger or Ms. Gueck Lim of the Technical Accounting and Auditing Staff at (202) 720-5227.  Information about our 2010 Rural Utilities Service CPA Seminar is also available on our website at http://www.usda.gov/rus/pasd/seminar.htm.

Whether you are an auditor or work for a Rural Utilities Service borrower, we believe that you will find this year’s seminar to be very beneficial.  We look forward to seeing you at the 2010 Rural Utilities Service CPA Seminar this year.
